Apple MacBook Air is a Battle between Two Similarly Sized Laptops! vs The Lenovo Yoga 3.

The Lenovo Yoga 3 vs Apple MacBook Air is an interesting matchup between two powerful laptops. The base version of the Lenovo Yoga 3 is fairly expensive, but, when compared to a similarly priced Apple MacBook Air, the two laptops are fairly evenly matches. The Lenovo Yoga 3 is sort of similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 in that it’s a laptop and a tablet hybrid. But, the difference between those two devices is that the Surface Pro 2 is more of a tablet, whereas the Yoga 3 is mostly a laptop. You can turn the keyboard behind the Lenovo Yoga 3 to turn it into a tablet, but the issue is that the keyboard is still visible when you have Yoga 3 Pro in tablet mode. The keyboard simply folds behind the device. However, it is sunken case a little bit, so if you lay the tablet flat on a surface, the keyboard won’t get in the way.
In contrast, the Apple MacBook Air can’t do any of these things. It is simply a thin and light laptop. The biggest difference between the Yoga 3 Pro and the 13-inch MacBook Air is that the supported resolution on the MacBook Air is much lower than the Yoga 3 Pro. The Yoga 3 Pro has a resolution of 3200×1800, while the MacBook Air only has a 1440×900 maximum resolution.
The difference is big enough that it will be noticeable if you were to switch between using the two laptops quickly. However, in daily use, the MacBook Air won’t necessarily look bad, just not as good as the Lenovo Yoga 3. Many people probably won’t use the Yoga 3 in tablet mode all that often, but having a touch screen is very useful. Because laptops are often used closer to the body than a desktop computer, reaching out and touching the screen can be useful for some gestures.

But, OS X doesn’t officially support touchscreens anyways, so you won’t’ necessarily be missing anything by not having a touchscreen. Operating systems also come into play when considering these two devices. If you prefer OS X, you’ll definitely want the MacBook Air. But, if you like Windows, the Yoga 3 will be the better choice. You can install Windows on the MacBook Air, but the Yoga 3 supports more of its features.
