The Apple Watch 3 is believed to have many significant concept changes including both a circular and square design. With more than one model expected, Apple will be looking to appeal to a wider range, and premium consumer base. The original brought forth Apple’s unique design quality, but missed the mark on the premium visual appeal that we’ve come to expect.



The iPhone 7s will surely bring out the very best in Apple’s mobile technology including what many are forecasting to be featured on the latest version of IOS. The 7s should come preinstalled with IOS 10 which will bring many new elements including added security and numerous enhancement with Apple Pay.

The Apple Watch 3 is expected to offer a wide array of options including Bluetooth payment options that will allow you to securely, and conveniently check-out at many retailers worldwide. Aside from the differences in design options, there is little known on how the 3^rd generation Apple Watch and the Apple Watch 2 will differ.

If purchased separately, the Apple Watch 2 price will likely set you back about $350 in the US and the iPhone 7 price is likely to start at $850. We’re hearing rumors on the bundle that will give you both for a low price of only $1000, and if true, will be nearly $200 off when purchased together.

Apple will be looking to market both heavily, especially the 2^nd generation Apple Watch which looks to be slightly smaller, but so much bigger when it comes to features. The Apple Watch 2 features are rumored to include larger battery, 4G LTE connectivity, front-facing video camera, thinner screen, and will be featured on the upcoming watchOS 2. Will the new iPhone 7 be waterproof?

The Apple Watch shipped with "splash proofing" that technically protected it from rain, sweat, and other minor exposure to water. Even so, Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, told people he took it in the shower and, since launch, people have even been swimming with it.
Other vendors have released waterproof phones in the past, but they either used nano coatings that would likely destroy the environmental ratings Apple values, or they used little flaps to protect ports that could break off and ruin the protection.
The iPhone 6s, while officially possessing nothing in the way of water resistance, has held up startlingly well to splashes and even dunks. There are rumors that the iPhone 7 will take that even further, with official "splash proofing" and perhaps even more.
Although swimming with an iPhone may not be on everyone's wish-list, those whose jobs or pastimes expose them to the elements, and even those who want to do underwater photography at shallow depths would be thrilled by the feature.

What changes can we expect in the iPhone 7 cameras?

Based on some recent acquisition, including smart camera company PrimeSense, speculation is high that Apple is working on taking even the 12 megapixel, 4K video camera in the iPhone 6s to the next level. What that means for the iPhone 7 is uncertain, though rumor has it Apple is aspiring to make the iPhone camera as good as a DSLR. That includes better low light, dynamic focus and depth of field, and potentially more.
The potentially more part is currently rumored to include two lenses allowing for even more advanced image signal processing. Whether, like optical image stabilization (OIS), that would be limited to the bigger, slightly more expensive Plus model is unknown.
The second lens could be used for wide-angle shots, to add extra data for better shots, or to pull black and white information for clearer, better low-light photography.

Will the iPhone 7 have wireless charging?

Up until mid-2015, it hadn't been possible to do wireless charging—also known as inductive charging—on a phone with a metal back. Since Apple switched from the glass of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s to the aluminum of the iPhone 5 and later models, that effectively meant the company couldn't offer wireless charging as well.
Now methods for induction through metal are being introduced, which means it's possible Apple could keep the aluminum back and offer wireless charging. The iPhone 7 is the first iPhone Apple could launch with the feature, if the company chooses to.
If Apple is serious about removing the 3.5mm headphone jack, wireless charging would be away to let customers listen via Lightning while charging via inductive magnet.
Recent rumors have also suggested Apple is working on resonant inductive coupling, which would let devices charge even at a distance. (The greater the distance, the lower the efficiency.) Such technology is likely a year or more away, though.

The new Apple Is Expected to Launch iPhone 7s In 2017

One of the leading smartphone maker, Apple, is being rumored to showcase a new high-end iPhone model in 2017 that will sport a curved glass case and 5.8-inch AMOLED display. If the rumours to be believed the new iPhone has been dubbed as iPhone 7s. It's also being said that Apple may have plans to revamp its entire iPhone lineup next year. According to reliable KGI Securities' analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will release a new iPhone with a glass casing (as opposed to the aluminium body in the current generation of iPhone) and an AMOLED display next year.

In a note to investors obtained by AppleInsider, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the new iPhone's design is similar to that of the iPhone 4s "glass sandwich," but instead of flat slabs, Apple will employ curved panels on both the device front and back. In another first, Apple turns to AMOLED technology to realize the new design paradigm. The analyst believes Apple is looking to implement exotic materials to further differentiate iPhone from a sea of competitors. Kuo expects Apple to choose glass for its new case design as the material is easy to mold and boasts properties that facilitate thin-and-light form factor designs. Other options include plastic and ceramic.

On the specification front, Apple's next-generation iPhone is expected to include wireless charging and new biometric recognition technology like face and iris scanning, presumably accomplished through a front-facing camera. Apple owns a number of patents covering secure facial recognition technology, including IP that relies on 3D rendering for increased levels of accuracy. Perhaps not coincidentally, the company recently acquired facial recognition specialist Emotient and real-time 3D rendering firm Faceshift. It is unclear where the new unit will rank in Apple's iPhone lineup, but Kuo predicts two possible scenarios. The analyst believes Apple is likely to position the 5.8-inch AMOLED iPhone model as a replacement for the current 5.5-inch TFT-LCD model, but if the company is unable to procure necessary AMOLED supply, the unit could launch as a top-end add-on to the 2017 iPhone line.

"If the supply of AMOLED panel is sufficient, we believe it is more likely that the first scenario will happen, in which case a 5.8-inch AMOLED model will entirely replace the 5.5-inch TFT-LCD iPhone," Kuo said.

Apple's iPhone 7s model thought to serve as a keystone in 2017's iPhone lineup and is expected to keep Apple in the running with competitors who use similarly exotic materials in their flagship smartphones. By launching next year, Apple will have fresh product on offer during the usual 'S' cycle refresh window, which normally brings internal buffs but little to no aesthetic change.

The new Potential Storage Options for the Apple Inc. iPhone 7

There has been a lot of grumbling among Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) customers around the fact that the base storage models of its iPhones still come with a paltry 16 gigabytes of NAND flash. As my fellow Foolish colleague Evan Niu points out, this is an excellent upsell strategy on Apple's part that has helped contribute to the noticeable increase in iPhone average selling prices.
With the iPhone 7, I believe that Apple will retain its current storage tier structure of 16/64/128 gigabytes. However, I think with the iPhone 7 Plus and/or the rumored Pro, Apple will actually go ahead and change things up a bit. Allow me to explain.
Did you see what Apple did with the iPad Pro?
With the iPad Pro, Apple offers three storage tiers. The base model starts at 32 gigabytes, with two higher-priced models offering 128 gigabytes and 256 gigabytes of storage, respectively. I think this is a harbinger of what to expect from the larger iPhones this fall.
For the regular iPhone 7 Plus, I could see Apple offering storage capacities of 32 gigabytes, 64 gigabytes, and 128 gigabytes, at the $749, $849, and $949 price points, respectively. For the iPhone 7 Pro, I could see Apple offering variants with 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB just as we've seen with the iPad Pro models.
These phones could sell for $849, $999, and $1149, respectively. Certainly quite pricey, so they had better be best-in-class across the board, but there are certainly many iPhone buyers who are fairly price insensitive and simply want the best iPhones that money can buy.
Here's why this pricing structure would work nicely
The goal of Apple's pricing structures has always been to try to convince customers that for each additional $100 spent moving up a tier, Apple is actually giving an incrementally better value. Indeed, if we look at the pricing structure for the iPhone 6s, Apple gives the customer an extra 48 gigabytes of storage for the first $100, but an additional 64 gigabytes of storage for the next $100.
The pricing scheme that I suggested above would have a similar effect. In going from the $749 iPhone 7 Plus to the $849 iPhone 7 Pro, the customer not only gets an extra 16 gigabytes of storage, but a superior camera. The value of the iPhone Pro increases vis-a-vis the vanilla iPhone Plus model when we get to the 128 gigabyte storage tier, where the incremental cost of an ostensibly better camera subsystem works out to just $50.
And, of course, for customers that find that even 128 gigabytes is not enough for their needs, only the iPhone Pro in this case would give them the extra 128 gigabytes of storage that they want. One has to figure that the kind of person that would need that much storage space in a phone is the same kind of person that would be taking a lot of 4K videos with her/his phone -- meaning that they'd probably want the better dual-camera subsystem anyway.
Apple has an interesting opportunity here
In a world where smartphone upgrade cycles are set to lengthen, Apple is best served by trying to extract as much revenue per unit at the high end as possible. Introducing higher tiers of iPhones with additional features/storage capacities is, in my mind, the right thing to do to capitalize on this opportunity.

A new leak from Italian website from HDblog suggests that Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, which is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 7 this September, will feature a whopping 256GB of storage.
That's double the storage of an entry-level Macbook Air, and would make the iPhone 7 Plus Apple's most high-capacity smartphone yet.
The site shows pictures of a 256GB SanDisk NAND flash memory chip that "could be appropriate for the next generation smartphone", according to MacRumours.

Apple has used SanDisk flash memory chips in a number of previous iPhone models - including the iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus - so it wouldn't be surprising if the two companies decided to link up again for the iPhone 7.

Release date

Taking Apple's release date history into account, it's likely we'll see the iPhone 7 officially revealed in September 2016.
Both the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6 were revealed in September and Apple has no reason to change its strategy.
There's also nothing wrong with taking advantage of Black Friday sales and the run up to Christmas.

That could be about to change as rumours suggest next year's model may drop the iconic home button on the front of the gadget.
Designers around the world are speculating on what Apple has planned and one artist, Marek Weidlich, has created an intriguing concept.

Weidlich has turned the entire front of the futuristic smartphone into a screen - leaving no home button or any visible bezel.
"I focused on simple design language which is very important for Apple," Weidlich said.
"I designed a curved display without a bezel, and equipped with a software home button."
Both Samsung and LG have embraced curvy screens with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the LG G Flex 2 respectively.
It's unlikely Apple will follow suit but then the world's most valuable company has frequently had a problem with bending phones.
Apple's last two releases have been with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens. This covers a broad range and the tech giant could decide to keep things as they are.

Dropping the headphone socket

Fans have been infuriated by new which claim to show a drastic change in one of the key features of the iPhone.
Pictures were obtained by the Taiwanese site Apple Club , which previously published the first schematics showing the protuding iPhone 6 camera lens, before being republished by 9to5Mac.
They appear to confirm rumours that Apple is set to remove the headphone socket from the iPhone 7.
If true, this will probably mean anyone who buys the next version of Apple's iPhone will have to use wireless headphones or fork out for a pricey converter.

In January, the usual shadowy "supply chain sources" told a Chinese website that the 3.5 inch headphone jack will not be included on Apple's next mobile.
Recently, these rumours have been fuelled by images of a case for the new phone that apparently show no hole for the headphone wires.
The pictures, spotted by Nowhereelse.fr after they were published on Twitter, seem to support the rumour that Apple will ditch the headphone socket.
There's no hole in the case for where a headphone socket should be - instead there are just spaces for the charging port and speakers.
Of course, there's no way of confirming the legitimacy of the case - but it serves as an interesting indicator for a potentially big design change.
Tech experts reckon that by removing the headphone socket, Apple engineers will be able to shave 1mm off the thickness of the phone.

At the moment, we don't know what kind of battery the iPhone 7 will use - but at least there's now a Low Power Mode built into iOS 9 to help it last even longer. We expect this will continue into an updated version of iOS.
According to Korean site ETNews, Apple is currently in discussion with arch-rival Samsung over supplying OLED screens for its next phone.
This would shift the display over from the current LED model to a much more vibrant OLED screen. Such a move would likely make for better colour reproduction for videos and games, but might hamper battery life.
However, one change could be a huge boon for Apple fans.

A photo claiming to be of the iPhone 7 Plus has surfaced on Chinese website Bastille Post, adding fuel to rumours that the smartphone will feature a dual-lens camera.
The picture shows a protruding, pill-shaped enclosure - which differs from the two separate circular camera openings depicted in some other online renderings.
The advantage of a dual camera is that it could allow iPhone users to snap SLR quality photos and 3D images on a smartphone.
Last year, Apple bought an Israeli smart camera company called LinX Computational Imaging, which builds smartphone and tablet cameras with sensors that provide depths of field.
The technology also allows for high quality images to be captured in low-light conditions.

The misery of dropping your iPhone down the toilet could soon be over as the latest rumours suggest Apple's next iPhone could be completely waterproof.
According to a report in the China-based Commercial Times , Apple is working on a new "compound material" that repels water for use in its forthcoming smartphone, which it is thought will be called the iPhone 7.
This new material will also reportedly remove the need for the two strips of plastic that run across the back of the current generation of iPhones to allow mobile signals to reach the antennas.
This suggests that the body of the next iPhone may not be made from metal at all, but some other kind of material that allows radio waves to pass through it.
Industrial designer Herman Haidin has taken a stab at predicting the next version of Apple's handset and reckons the American tech giant could use a material known as 'liquidmetal'.
Apple acquired a patent for liquidmetal back in 2010 and uses it to make the small SIM ejector tool that comes in each iPhone box.
The material itself is a type of alloy that's tougher and more water-resistant than typical aluminium.
In the concept, Haidin envisions the iPhone 7 as a mere 3mm thick with a body formed of glass and liquidmetal.

There has also been some suggestion that the iPhone 7 could include a cutting-edge technology known as LiFi, that is capable of transmitting information at 100 times the speed of WiFi.

The 360-degree video of the next handsets:iPhone 7

The footage complements the set of renders doing the rounds yesterday, when uSwitch picked up on a leak from Steve Hemmerstoffer highlighting what the handsets should look like when they are revealed in September.
The iPhones in the video are exactly the same as the images, although showcased as 3D models.
As such, we can see just how much the camera modules on each device will protrude from the chassis. Compared with the iPhone 6S, the bump is softer and ramps up rather than sticking straight out.
The dual-camera system on the iPhone 7 Plus – which some are now calling the iPhone 7 Pro – will be housed in a pill-shaped enclosure. A larger camera cut-out appears on the standard phone now so expect new hardware.

As previously rumoured, both handsets are the exact same sizes as the iPhone 6S, although the headphone jack is missing. Initial rumours suggested Apple would rid the phones of the port in order to make them slimmer, but the 4.7ins iPhone 7 in this video is 0.27ins thick, with the Plus coming in at 0.28ins.
There doesn't appear to be any holes for a second speaker in place of the jack neither, so if this design is accurate, it's not clear why Apple has removed the port.
Overall, CAD renderings point to a handset that looks and feels very similar to the current iPhone offerings, which could be disappointment for some fans.
BGR says Apple could be holding back for 2017's handset, given that next year marks the tenth anniversary of the iPhone. Previous rumours have hinted at that model coming with an all-glass form factor, OLED displays and an even-larger 5.8ins screen size.
MacRumors also carries a report on well-known Apple blogger John Gruber, who says the company could be working on a phone with an edge-to-edge display, with the fingerprint scanner embedded behind the screen, along with the front-facing camera and speaker.
Given that it's still months before we even see this year's handsets, 2017 iPhone rumours should be taken with a large grain of salt for now.

iPhone 7: Two big leaks about this year's model

Two new leaks regarding the iPhone 7 have hit the internet in the space of a day, featuring new information and insight as to how the handset may look and how powerful it might be.
The first, from uSwitch, is a set of renders handed over to the site by noted iPhone leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, known as OnLeaks on twitter. Both the standard 4.7ins iPhone 7 and larger 5.5ins devices are detailed and the designs show it will be more than just screen size separating the two phones.
For starters, if this leak is accurate, it suggests the larger device, which some say could come marketed as the iPhone 7 Pro, will get a dual-camera system. Buyers of the standard iPhone will have to make do with a single lens, albeit one likely to be upgraded over the current iPhone 6S hardware – the camera housing is significantly larger, suggesting new kit.
As for the dual camera, "whether Apple uses the lens separately for standard and wide angle shots (like the LG G5) or to enable an optical zoom remains to be seen", says Forbes, but the camera differences are likely to be the biggest factor for buyers when choosing between the two phones.
There's another hardware spilt between the devices, too. Tucked away near the bottom of the larger handset's backplate are three dots – a Smart Connector.
Rumours that Apple will put this on the next handset have been shady but this leak strikes straight down the middle – the larger handset gets the connector while the smaller one will go without.
Forbes's tech man, Gordon Kelly, adds that we should take these images seriously – Hemmerstoffer is "arguably the most reliable leaker on the planet", he argues.
Elsewhere, the handsets have no headphone jacks, no secondary speaker system and no real form factor changes over the iPhone 6 generation. The antenna bands aren't present, although it's widely expected that Apple will reposition them.
The second leak discusses the internals and comes by way of a research note obtained by MacRumors from the ever-reliable Ming Chi-Kuo.
According to the analyst, the larger 5.5ins iPhone will get 3GB RAM mated to its A10 chip to cope with the increased image processing demands of its dual camera. That's up from the 2GB you'll find in the A9-powered iPhone 6S, but behind the 4GB Samsung Galaxy S7 in terms of raw numbers.

iPhone 7 'dummy' pictures emerge

New images submitted anonymously to MacRumors claim to reveal a possible pre-production dummy iPhone 7.
Such photos have emerged ahead of Apple smartphone launches before - TechnoBuffalo got hold of an eerily accurate iPhone 6 copy four months prior to its reveal in 2014 – but there's no way to confirm if the new pictures are legitimate and many critics are sceptical about them.
However, many of the much rumoured iPhone 7 design changes are present and MacRumors say they offer a "good visual representation" of all the reports surrounding it.

What the images show

In terms of its overall shape, the handset strongly resembles Apple's current smartphones, although the rear seems to feature some changes.          
Of particular note are the alterations to the antenna bands. Instead of looping around the entre backplate, they are tucked in neatly at the top and bottom of the phone, while also running slightly up the sides, to give a profile not a million miles away from that of the iPhone 6.
A secondary shot seems to confirm one of the longest running and most controversial iPhone 7 rumours – that the headphone jack is being removed. However, there does not appear to be extra speaker holes, so this device clearly works off the angle that Apple will not use the space to introduce a dual-speaker system.

Why they could be fake

The camera system is proving to be a sticking point with those convinced the images aren't real. The module sits flush and no longer protrudes from the case. While it's said Apple will alter the camera, recent rumours indicate the changes won't appear like the ones pictured here.
According to SlashGear, the module looks "lost in space". It is in the same location as on the iPhone 6S, a site that makes sense on that handset because of the antenna bands. Here, however, it looks sloppy without them. "The spacing has no rhyme or reason," concludes the site.
More recent reports from Steve Hemmerstoffer of NowhereElse contradict the camera seen here, too. In a leak he claims is "100 per cent legit", the camera cut-out is larger and tucked neatly into the top left corner, with a slight bump.
Another leak has backed up this iPhone 7 design.
A piece of hardware on the handset also contradicts latest rumours. Although difficult to make out, a Smart Connector can be seen sitting towards the bottom of the backplate. Only last week, Japanese leak blog Macotakara dismissed the idea that Apple will put the iPad Pro feature on its next smartphone, while SlashGear is convinced it has been Photoshopped onto the new images.

iPhone 7: Clearest look yet at possible 4.7ins handset

A new leak has strengthened claims that the iPhone 7 won't come with many big changes.
The report, which claims to show a design sketch of the base 4.7ins display handset, was picked up by NowhereElse, a site Forbes says has a reliable track record and "famously attained designs ahead of the Galaxy S6, S7, Note 5, iPhone 6S and iPhone SE". It has also been at the forefront of some of the most revealing iPhone 7 leaks so far.
Here's what the leaked renders tell us:         

No design change from the iPhone 6S

The schematics come complete with measurements and, if true, they show that Apple's next smartphone will have the exact same footprint as the iPhone 6S, backing up predictions that the iPhone 7 won't look very different.
It claims the new handset is 2.6ins wide – a fraction more than the 6S - and 5.4ins tall. While not mentioned on the drawings, NowhereElse says it expects the handset to be 0.28ins thick, so no change there.    
The renderings don't show antenna bands and it's rumoured that Apple will reposition them, although it is possible that the renders only convey dimensions rather than final design.  Nor are there images of the bottom of the handset, so no new headphone jack removal news.

Dual cameras reserved for iPhone 7 Plus

While much of the focus has been on the highly rumoured dual camera said to be in the works for a 5.5ins iPhone 7 – either in the form of exclusive hardware for the iPhone 7 Plus or an entirely new "Pro" line – this is one of our best looks yet at a possible standard, single-lens iPhone 7.
The camera cut-out appears to be much larger than the bumped one found on the iPhone 6S, indicating that a larger sensor is on the way. Forbes adds that an increase from the 12-megapixel Apple currently uses is unlikely, considering rivals have reduced pixel count to this on many of their 2016 flagships. Instead, the company may go the way of Samsung and introduce larger pixels and a wider aperture.

What else?

Similar looking renders were posted online in March and also leaked by NowhereElse. However, 9 to 5 Mac points out that regardless of the leak's background, it still cannot be confirmed – it's a "basic sketch" that would be very easy to create.

iPhone 7: iPad Pro feature set to be dropped

Photographic leaks of the upcoming iPhone 7 have been thin on the ground and now a new report suggests that one of the most prominent designs touted so far could be inaccurate.
An alleged casing leak from March claimed to show Apple's next flagship smartphone with a dual-camera system, repositioned antenna bands and an Apple Smart Connector, as used on the iPad Pro.
This design was picked up by Japanese magazine MacFan, which published full schematics drawings, complete with dimensions, leading some to believe the leak was a good indicator of what's coming in September.
However, the usually reliable Japanese blog Macokatara now reports the Smart Connector will not make it on to the iPhone 7.
According to Forbes, the feature is "something potentially rather exciting" and while it is unclear just how it would work on an iPhone, it's reported omission means Apple could be missing out on introducing some interesting new features on the iPhone 7.
The connector attaches keyboards to the iPad Pro and can deliver both power and data simultaneously, meaning external accessories require no batteries or charging to work.
On the iPhone 7, Forbes imagines "sleek wireless headphones, mini keyboards, and 'smart' protective cases" could have made for a much more modular and customisable platform.
9 to 5 Mac says the omission is no great surprise, given that leaks so far have placed the connector on a less-than-ideal position on the handset – users would likely have to hold attached accessories in place.
The site does pick out other rumours which remain consistent with the recent images, though. The iPhone 7 looks set to retain the iPhone 6's casing, while no information has yet cast doubt over the dual camera supposedly coming the iPhone's way.

The new Apple iPhone 7 Rumors

New case leaks once again suggest that Apple will be letting go of the 3.5 mm headphone jack in iPhone 7. Leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer also known as @onleaks, posted some pictures of an alleged iPhone 7 case with an iPhone 6s in it.
Now, for the most part, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7 will be very close in design. However, one significant change will be the lack of a headphone jack. And as shown in the leaked photos of the iPhone 7 case, it seems to be true.

The camera hole in the case seems to be bigger; we think it’s for the dual camera, but it isn’t that big either. The case is for the iPhone 7, not the iPhone 7 Plus, which is supposed to have the dual camera setup.
In the second picture below, you can see that a larger speaker cutout has replaced the cutout for the headphone jack.


Update – March 5, 2016 – The Apple iPhone 7 could feature new LTE modems made by Intel, according to an analyst at CLSA Securities. Almost 30 to 40 percent of modems for the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be supplied by Intel, say sources who’re familiar with the supply chain.
Apple normally uses LTE modems manufactured by Qualcomm, but this year’s iPhone could see faster speeds with  450Mbps downloads and 100Mbps uploads. The Intel XMM 7360 chip will support LTE 10, giving the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus an immense boost. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus currently use Qualcomm MDM9635 modem, which offers 300Mbps downloads and 50Mbps uploads.
Update – March 3, 2016 – Apple will release the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus in September this year and the Plus model will feature some advanced camera tech. We’ve already heard several reports suggesting that the iPhone 7 Plus will be available in two variants, one with a dual camera system, the other with a single camera.
Now, the latest report states that Apple may call this model with dual cameras as ‘iPhone 7 Pro‘. Makes sense, don’t you think? Take this report with a grain of salt though.

iPhone 7 Plus Dual Camera Rumor

Update – February 29, 2016 – There have been reports that the new iPhone 7 Plus will have a dual camera system that should help improve zoom, low light photography and overall quality. Apple is said to use the setup from Linx, a company they purchased for their advancement in dual-camera technology.
Now, how would a dual-camera system work? Well, a competitor showed off a dual camera system at MWC 2016, which made optical zoom possible without any moving lenses. Also, the overall quality of the picture was better.
Corephotonics, the company behind the dual-camera tech, stated that the technology was available in 2014, but there were problems with manufacturing and supply.

The reports suggest that only the top end iPhone 7 Plus will get the dual camera setup and by the looks of the results, the tech is going to be a real step up.

Apparently, Apple will use technology from the Israeli firm Linx Camera Inc, which they acquired last year. The Linx technology uses two cameras to capture two separate images and then uses imaging software to stitch them together.

He also states that only about 30 percent of all iPhone 7 shipments would include the new dual camera setup. This structure will be reserved for a premium version of the iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 7 will only include one sensor.
We’re not so sure if Apple will start selling other versions of the iPhone 7 Plus. The company has stuck to introducing only two models every year around September, and we don’t think it’s about to change anytime soon.

Report from Jan 31, 2016 – The Apple iPhone 6 and all the models after have had a hideous camera bulge at the back. This is because the phone is slimmer than the camera module.
For many, this is a problem as the phone won’t lay flat on its back and the lens cover could be damaged. Both the iPhone 6 and the 6s have the camera bulge. That may change with future iPhones, and Apple may finally get rid of the bulge.
Thanks to the new patent application filed by Apple, a spherical lens will reduce the thickness of the camera module. This would make it possible for a slim smartphone to have a non-protruding camera lens.
The patent is titled “Small form factor high-resolution camera” and states that the distance between the CMOS sensor and the lens can be reduced by using a curved sensor. It’s a very cool idea and is already being used in astronomical telescopes. To use this on a small smartphone specific camera would be difficult, but is still possible.

iPhone 7: Apple Patent to remove camera bump from future smartphones…

Despite being thinner than a traditional setup, the camera will produce higher quality and sharper images. The curved would also be able to capture more light and provide better images at night.
This lens system could have an aperture of f/1.8 or less. The total axial length of the setup is proposed to be less than 2 mm. Such a structure is said to cause distorted images due to chromatic aberration, but Apple claims it can fix that by adding another lens.
Apple could end up using this new camera module in a future iPhone, but don’t expect to see it in the iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 will most likely feature an improved camera, but nothing of this sort and we believe the bulge will still be there.
